Uninstalling Microsoft ‘PowerToys’
I installed MS PowerTools on my new Windows 11 Computer so I could remap my print screen for SnagIt Screen Capture SW.
Once I installed it, I realized it required a MS keyboard, and I’m trying to use it on my laptop. I didn’t want to look for workarounds, so I immediately & unsuccessfully tried to uninstall it.
So I did some digging I found this comment on github:
How to uninstall:
Hit the windows key and type ‘apps’
Select Add or remove programs and it should open up to Apps
Type in Powertoys into the search window and you’ll see powertoys with an ellipsis, select uninstall and the uninstallation will begin
When you see this screen, select uninstall:
This screen should show up during uninstallation… but notice, it says Installing PowerToys! 🙁
Fortunately the last window shows that “Uninstall Successfully Completed”
After uninstallation, I searched for PowerToys and found a folder in my Documents Folder, so I deleted it to prevent it from reminding me that it wasted my time 🙁
If anyone learns how to remap the Windows 11 keys, please let me know!
