2000 955i won’t start

My 955i died on the way down the street to get some fuel…. and after 3 hours of waiting for a tow truck I finally got it back to my place –  a hilly 2 miles jaunt!

There’s a few issues that I suspect caused this, but I’m focusing on the cheap one… the fuel pump is not functioning!

I know this because when I turn the key, the pump no longer primes… so this is the main troubleshooting area that I’ll focus on…

Unfortunately, while debugging the issue I took off the tank and cracked the delicate (Cheap) Quick Connector to the fuel line so I decided to replace the plastic ones with some metal ones to prevent future issues.

I’ll purchase it here next time to save ~$18 (~$48 w/shipping):  http://quickcouplings.net/osc/product_info.php?products_id=642      (Thanks Triumphrat.com!)

I believe this is the CPC part on their own website:

The plastic/nylon ones are a pain to remove, but after a bit too much time I had them out without damaging the threads on the tank.

Fortunately since the tank was removed we could apply power to the fuel pump to do a sanity check – we heard it pump!

Now it is time to wait until the connectors come in to determine if it was just a bad connection or something else.
